In this post, we bring you news of the passport delivery for our client Kim**, who was approved for Commonwealth of Dominica citizenship.

Our client Kim** signed the contract in late April 2019, and approval came much later than the expected schedule because of tightened screening by the Commonwealth of Dominica and the outbreak of COVID-19.
The first filing was made in June 2019 once all materials were ready, but repeated issues over the source of funds among Chinese applicants led to requests for additional documents. We therefore took an alternative route for proving our client Kim** source of assets, gathered the relevant materials and submitted them, and because processing by the Dominica government agency (CBIU) also took a long time, citizenship approval was granted in January 2020.
After approval from the CBIU, the investment funds had to be remitted and the citizenship certificate and passport received right away, but another problem arose here. Because of an issue on the agency side, the donation had to be sent through an escrow account, and since 2019 due diligence on the source of funds has been tightened, so the donation went through one more round of due diligence via the JRCC, the Caribbean crime and security agency.
This is normally a procedure that does not take long, but at the time the outbreak of COVID-19 greatly lengthened the review period, taking well over two months, and the original Commonwealth of Dominica citizenship certificate and passport were finally received in late August 2020.
The Dominica citizenship program can normally be completed in three months, or six at the latest, but unexpected variables stretched it to about one year and two months in the end. We sincerely thank our client for trusting MCC and waiting, and once again congratulate our client Kim**, who received Commonwealth of Dominica citizenship and a passport without a single refusal!
