Our client Park**, who pursued Vanuatu citizenship for a family of five including himself, his spouse, two children and his father, signed the contract in November 2020 and prepared every first- and second-stage document within two days, which let us file the citizenship application quickly.

Under the Vanuatu system, where every step has been handled online since the COVID-19 outbreak, all materials were provided as scanned copies by email, and it took only four days in total to complete the certified translations and forward them to the agent.

The due diligence result also arrived the very next day, so in less than a week most of the process was wrapped up apart from the donation remittance and the oath ceremony.

In Korea, a confirmation of the source of funds is required for overseas remittances of USD 100,000 or more. Our client Park** had no criminal record and ample funds, so we were confident he would clear due diligence without issue and requested the source-of-funds confirmation in advance at the time of the contract.

That document normally takes about a week to issue, but because we had requested it in advance we received it promptly, and the donation was remitted two days after the due diligence result came out.
